Atiku mourns ex-president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Ikedife

Former Vice-President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Social gathering, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has mourned the dying of Dr. Dozie Ikedife, an ex-leader, pan-Igbo cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

He expressed his grief on Wednesday in a publish shared through his Twitter account.

Recall that Ikedife passed on yesterday at 7pm in his Nnewi residence at the age of 88.

Reacting, Atiku wrote: “On behalf of my household, I mourn the lack of Dr Dozie Ikedife, a former President-Normal of Ohaneze Ndigbo.

“He was a real patriot who labored for a united, democratic and truthful Nigeria. Might he relaxation in peace.”

Ikedife, held the normal title of Ikuku Ebu Nkpu, which was awarded to him by 14 communities in Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Ekwusigo native authorities areas of Anambra State.

He was additionally a holder of an honorary chieftaincy title of Ikenga Nnewi and Odezuligbo Umueje. Ikedife was an obstetrician, gynaecologist and researcher of reputation.

He held a Bachelor of Science diploma obtained from the college of London in 1958, Bachelor of Drugs and Bachelor of Surgical procedure, (MBBS), College Glasgow, Scotland, 1959 and a diploma in obstetrical, Royal Faculty Ob-Gyn.

He was a onetime President Normal of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a presidential liason officer (1979-1983), a delegate to the Centenary Convention of Nigeria in 2014 and the chair of many Igbo teams.
