Buhari assures on speedy signing of PIGB invoice

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that he would give immediate consideration to signing the Petroleum Trade Governance Invoice (PIGB), when handed by the Nationwide Meeting.

He gave the peace of mind in Abuja on Friday, on the event of the 40th Anniversary of the Nationwide Union of Petroleum and Pure Fuel Employees (NUPENG).

Represented by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, the president famous that the PIGB would enhance industrial concord within the oil and gasoline sector.


“Sure revolutionary steps have been taken within the oil trade which can help the peaceable co-existence of employers and workers within the sector,” he stated.

Talking because the Visitor of Honour on the 40th Anniversary of NUPENG with the theme: “Nigeria Oil and Fuel Employees; Yesterday, Right now and Tomorrow”, President Buhari famous that employers and workers have a symbiotic relationship, as their mutual survival trusted a harmonious partnership between them.

In accordance with him, “if there aren’t any employers, there might be no workers. Due to this, we’d like equilibrium within the oil and gasoline trade.

“Mr President requested me to congratulate you on the celebrations of your 40 years in existence. He’s a worker-friendly president that’s concern about higher working situation for employees.

“He’s a president that respect the rule of legislation and the legislation of the land. He promised to signal the Petroleum Trade Governance Invoice as soon as is delivered to him.”
