The suspect accused of shooting a Los Angeles County deputy in his patrol car was arrested in Palmdale, authorities confirmed.
Kevin Cataneo Salazar, 29, was arrested early Monday morning after spending several hours inside the home, Sheriff Robert Luna said at a news conference.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the ambush and shooting of a Los Angeles County deputy in his patrol car in Palmdale.
Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer, a 30-year-old field training officer, was shot and killed Saturday outside the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station at the corner of Sierra Highway and Avenue Q.

Sheriff Robert Luna said a good Samaritan found the deputy unconscious in his vehicle around 6 p.m. Clinquin Bloomer was rushed to Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster, where he later died.
He was honored at a candlelight vigil outside the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station Sunday night.
No further details about those arrested have been released, but officials are expected to hold a news conference at 10:30 a.m.

The video also shows a “vehicle of interest” seen near the officer’s vehicle at the time of the shooting. The vehicle is described as a dark gray 2006-12 Toyota Corolla.
Before announcing the arrest on Sunday, Luna described the suspect as a “coward” and said there was no warning and no apparent motive for the killing.
“This is absolutely unacceptable,” Luna said. “Without any warning, he was murdered while serving our community.”
