According to Lee’s new employer, cryptocurrency start-up MobileCoin, the victim of the early Tuesday morning stabbing near downtown San Francisco has been identified as Cash App creator and former Square CTO Bob Lee.

Around 2:35 in the morning, a stabbing was reported in the 400 block of Main Street in the Lincoln Hills neighborhood. Police say that after finding the victim and bringing him to the hospital, he passed away from his wounds.

Although Li’s friends and coworkers confirmed to KPIX that he was the victim, the city’s medical examiner’s office had not yet identified the case as of Tuesday evening. Lee, 43, the chief product officer of the San Francisco-based cryptocurrency business MobileCoin, passed away on Wednesday morning, according to the company.

Lee moved to Miami in the latter part of last year, but he was recently in town for the MobileCoin Leadership Summit and spent an additional few nights to visit with friends. Doug Dalton, a longtime friend of Lee’s, first met Lee many years ago when they were both beginning their careers as software engineers.

He forged bonds between people. He combined technology,” Dalton stated. Dalton, who gathered with Lee and other friends the night before his passing, said of his father: “He was a fantastic parent who always did the best he could. He explained, “The location he returns to leads straight to his motel.

According to a security manager at a nearby business, surveillance cameras in the vicinity recorded video of Lee going down the street following the stabbing. When Lee crossed the street in Harrison while carrying his phone, he was spotted heading down the main street towards the Portside apartment building. The building fell less than 20 feet from the entrance. He later passed away at a hospital.

Dalton remarked, “I think he still has a lot to offer and it’s shocking that this happened.” “Living with two bachelors is an experience; I’m glad we’ve become so close over the past few years. Bob will lend you his back shirt, part of the message states. “He never regarded anyone with contempt and adhered to a rigid, non-judgmental mindset. Bobby was the sharpest person I’ve ever known and worked harder than anyone. All those who knew him will miss him.

Joshua Goldbard, CEO of MobileCoin, told KPIX that Bob “is a force of nature.” “He contributed to the introduction of Android and CashApp. His ideal 21st-century privacy wallet was Moby. Everyday I shall miss him.
