Authorities in Texas said that an incident at Allen Premium Outlets on Saturday afternoon resulted in eight fatalities and seven injuries.
According to Jonathan Boyd, the chief of the Allen Fire Department, four of the injured people are stable while the other three are still in serious condition. With the accused gunman included, there have been a total of nine fatalities: seven at the scene and two who later died from their wounds.
At a news conference on Saturday night, Police Chief Brian Harvey stated that when gunfire broke out at Allen Premium Outlets at 3:36 p.m., a police officer was nearby attending to an unrelated incident.
The officer “engaged the suspect and neutralized the threat,” according to the police. A law enforcement source told Fox News that they believe the alleged gunman acted alone and that the suspect is now deceased.

A spokesman for Medical City Healthcare informed FOX 4 Dallas that eight individuals, ranging in age from 5 to 61, were being treated at their facilities.
Earlier on Saturday, the ATF Dallas Field Division tweeted that it was responding to a gunshot scenario. Additionally present were FBI agents.
Joshua W. Barnwell, the operations administrator, told FOX 4 Dallas that he heard at least 30 gunshots and counted 60 or so rounds of ammo on the ground.

A mother who was with her daughter at the mall reported hearing popping noises and seeing sparks fly.
“We were outside the Converse store and we just heard all this popping,” Elaine Penicaro told FOX 4. “We all kind of stopped, and then a second later, just ‘Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop,’ and there were sparks flying like it was right in front of us.”
