Police are at the scene of Garfield, who they describe as a “shooting incident.” BREAKING: There is an active shooter being reported in the Garfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. – The situation is currently unfolding around the 4800 block of Broad Street & Matilda Street in Garfield. This is close to Friendship Park. – The SWAT team is on the scene. – Early reports indicate that multiple shots have been fired at police officers and that one officer may have been shot. – Police have closed down Broad Street in between North Mathilda Street and North Millvale Avenue.
The situation in the 4800 block of Broad Street and N. Mathilda Street is evolving, according to Public Safety.
Sources told KDKA’s Andy Sheehan that sheriff’s deputies were on the scene serving eviction notices, and as they approached the property, the resident began firing and a shootout ensued.

“Hundreds of shots” are believed to have been fired.
The Pittsburgh Police Department SWAT team is currently taking over the crime scene and investigating.
The public was urged to avoid the area as it described an “extremely active situation with constant gunfire”.
The sheriff’s deputy is not believed to have been hit, but was injured by broken glass.
The event will be held near St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery and UPMC Children’s Hospital.
