Christy Dignam dead, lead singer of the popular Irish rock died
Christy Dignam, the lead singer of the Irish rock band Aslan, is receiving palliative care at home, according to his family. Amyloidosis, a condition that results in an abnormal protein buildup in the body and can cause organ failure, is being treated in the 62-year-old Dubliner. In July 2022, he was admitted to the hospital and treated there for six months.

Christy Dignam, the famed Irish rock band’s main singer, has passed away.
On Monday, his family gave an update “in response to the numerous media inquiries that have been received.” The following was stated in a statement: “As of December, Christie has remained at home and is being lovingly cared for by his family with the support of his palliative care team.” The Dignham family requests privacy at this time and thanks everyone for their good wishes and prayers for Christy. Aslan, which was founded in Dublin in 1982, has created a number of successes, including This Is and Crazy World.

The group was scheduled to perform at the Millennium Forum in Londonderry on July 15 as part of a tour of the Republic of Ireland this summer. Other Aslan members, meanwhile, expressed their “devastation that all future shows will be canceled” as a result of Dignan’s sickness in a statement on their social media pages.

Our #1 priority has always been and will remain Christie’s health. For all of us, but especially for Christie, this has been a difficult road, they declared. Words are inadequate to convey how we feel about the most recent information revealed by Christy’s family.

Dignham has recently been transparent about his struggles with his physical and emotional health.

He had been taking supplementary heroin therapy prior to being identified as having amyloidosis. Dignam’s release from Aslan in the late 1980s was a result of this. The band, which was founded in 1993, played just one concert before going on to release many albums and frequently tour Ireland.

According to the band, “Christie and ourselves are devastated that, as Christie is in palliative care, all future shows will be canceled and performances will not be possible.” Dignam has been urged to maintain his anonymity at this time by both the band and the family.
