Youth pastor accused of filming girls in shower at SC church

According to the sheriff’s office, a youth pastor in South Carolina is now facing fresh charges for allegedly filming women using the restroom at a church.

Following information from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office started their investigation on Tuesday, according to WHNS.

The 35-year-old youth pastor, Daniel Kellan Mayfield, reportedly acknowledged to filming a woman on May 27 while she was taking a shower, according to the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office. An incident report states that a woman informed deputies she noticed a light outside the bathroom window while taking a shower at her mother’s house. She claimed that when she went to look, she discovered Mayfield alone himself in the backyard.

Mayfield allegedly admitted to photographing the woman when deputies spoke with him. Voyeurism was alleged against him.

Deputies in Greenville County looked into the event after it happened and found that Mayfield reportedly recorded many girls in the restroom of the Gowensville Baptist Church in Landrum. Six victims have been named so far, and it is claimed that they are as young as 14.

Deputies claim that Mayfield set up and shot footage in the restroom at least three times beginning in July 2022. Sheriff’s deputies stated that they thought Mayfield acted alone and that they didn’t think anyone from the church was aware of his actions.

It was confirmed by First Baptist Gowensville that Mayfield held a position as a student pastor. On the day of his arrest, he was let go by the church, though.

On Thursday, the church issued the following statement regarding the incident:

“On May 27th, 2023, First Baptist Gowensville leadership was made aware of an incident of moral misconduct perpetrated by one of our staff members. Proper authorities were notified immediately and the employee was terminated from his role. Due to the nature of the investigation, FBC Gowensville refers all questions to the law enforcement authorities involved. We remain dedicated to providing a safe worship environment and will be ever vigilant in protecting all persons involved in any of our events.”

Deputies confirmed that Mayfield was taken into custody Thursday afternoon in Boiling Springs and charged with five counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of voyeurism.

Mayfield was denied bond during a hearing that night. The sheriff’s office said during the hearing that they believe more charges may be coming.

Who is Francesca Williams? Killed in Home Invasion Robbery at her Ecuador Farm

Francesca Williams, a mother-of-three from Colorado, was fatally shot at her property in Ecuador during a bloody home invasion. Williams and her family were expatriates who were residing in Ecuador.

Francesca Williams, her husband Michael, their three teenage children, and her father-in-law were there at their farm in the village of Vilacamba on May 20 when a group of males invaded the property, according to an interview with TV station KDVR.

Michael claims that when he was standing outdoors, he was struck—possibly with a brick—and fell to the ground.

According to reports, the person’s father-in-law John was stabbed several times. John is reportedly afflicted with a number of illnesses, including dementia and emphysema.

Marianna Bacilla claims that Francesca saw her father being attacked when he was outside hanging laundry and tried to stop it. She reportedly descended to save him but was met with gunfire.

A mother of three was shot in the back and died. The Williams family’s daughters are said to have been fortunate to have avoided physical harm during the heist. The victim’s daughter Rachel gave a statement outlining how she remembers the incident.

The youngster claimed to have seen a disturbing scenario involving her grandfather and two strange males. While the other man was involved in a violent argument with her mother, the other man was positioned to the right of her grandpa. The girl claimed that her mother was battling the second man while trying to protect her.

The witness claimed to have seen two pistol flashes and heard gunshots. Despite closing the door to her home, according to Rachel, trespassers allegedly broke in and asked where a “large aunt” was in Spanish.

The adolescent believes that a case of mistaken identity may have led to the tragic break-in. According to Rachel, she claimed that the people had asked about the presence of a “large aunt,” who, in her opinion, has never been to their location.

An American mother was shot and killed by robbers in front of her husband, father, and three children in a terrible occurrence.

According to reports, a group of men tied up Michael Williams and then ransacked his home, stealing expensive stuff including computers and iPads before fleeing. Michael and his kids hurried Francesca to the hospital, but she was sadly too late to be saved.

Her adoptive mother has started a GoFundMe page to collect money for the family. Over $28,000 has already been given. Francesca’s hometown is Poway, California, and she pursued her higher education at the University of California-San Diego, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, according to Bacilla’s description.

Recently, the debut book of a bilingual woman who worked as a translator and illustrator was released. She spoke Lithuanian, French, and Spanish fluently.

In Vilcabamba, Ecuador, where Francesca’s family dwells, they are building a small farm and rearing a variety of animals, including hens, goats, horses, pigs, ducks, and guinea fowl. To accomplish sustainable farming is their ultimate goal.

It was their humble Shangri-La, said Bacilla, and Francesca started a fundraiser in 2020 to gather money for the Williams family, who have apparently faced many challenges while living in Ecuador.

She gave a thorough explanation of her struggles paying for her crippled parents’ medical bills and finding Renee, her youngest child, a doctor who could treat her unusual genetic disease, which prevents her from growing and developing normally.

Francesca disclosed that she had become infected with a dangerous tropical parasite. She admitted that she was concerned and said, “I always thought I’d care for my parents until the very end.” “It never occurred to me that I might die before them,” the person said.

The woman’s health began to deteriorate, and she was forced to return to the United States to get treatment for her infection right away. It appears, nevertheless, that the family eventually returned to Ecuador to carry on with their farming livelihood.

Ironically, Francesca claimed that Ecuador was the place where she felt the safest. The speaker implied that their family member would still be alive and that their family wouldn’t have gone through any catastrophe if they had stayed in the United States.

The survivors of the horrific occurrence in the Williams family are currently making plans to return to Colorado, where they own a home. In 2021, Francesca’s body will be buried next to that of her biological mother, who passed away earlier in the year.
