    Details of the Purdue University Doug Bursma obituary. Doug Boersma serves as Director of Strength, Nutrition and Sports Psychology, overseeing the care and well-being of the athletes on 18 Purdue University athletics teams. In 2012, he was named director of sports medicine and held those positions in 2013 and 2016 before being promoted to assistant director of athletics in 2016. In July 2021, he was promoted to senior associate athletic director.

    Chris Boersma, a 1997 Purdue University graduate and current head coach of the Bowling Green State Broncos, decided to return after playing for Kentucky and Notre Dame to the original school. Bursma has served as Bowling Green State University’s head football athletic coach, director of sports medicine and associate director of athletic performance since 2003.
