Resentful Nigerians Laments State Of Nation As Nigeria Marks Silver Jubilee
October 1st 2020 makes it exactly 60 years Nigeria gained independence from their colonial masters, the British, hence a celebration is necessary for the day.
The International Day of Older Persons is observed on October 1 each year. On December 14, 1990 the United Nations General Assembly voted to establish October 1 as the International Day of Older Persons as recorded in Resolution 45/106. The holiday was observed for the first time on October 1, 1991.
However, due to the raging Coronavirus, the celebration has been reduced to a minimum by the president but this hasn’t stopped aggrieved citizens from lashing out at the leaders.
The hashtag #Nigeria60AndUseless is currently the number one trend on Twitter as bitter Nigerians call on the government to step up their games and see how bad the nation has fallen within 60 years.
