As fellow director Hideo Kojima celebrated the ninth anniversary of his playable teaser, Guillermo del Toro expressed his disappointment over the cancellation of Silent Hills.

Yesterday (August 12), Kojima posted a picture of PT on Twitter with the caption, “Eight years have passed,” in reference to the launch of the playable demo that doubled as a promo for silent hills, the upcoming game in the silent Hill franchise that will be developed by Kojima.

After three years of co-development with Kojima, Konami canceled the game six months later. They later became independent with their studio Kojima Productions.

It seems that Guillermo del Toro, who was going to direct the game alongside Kojima, is still frustrated with the studio’s decision to remove silent hills. He quoted the tweet and additional “FK”, which many used as an abbreviation for “Fuck Konami” when the cancellation was announced.
