The Founder and Chairman of Foliage, Femi Ayejusunle has planted another set of over 100 trees in Unity Secondary School, Ode-Aye as part of Foliage’s missions towards its vision to plant over 100,000 trees across Ondo State.
Recalled that the flag off activities where over 100 trees were planted in St. Peter’s Unity Secondary School, Akure as pilot site was ably attended by government functionaries like the Director General, Ondo State Performance and Project Implementation Monitoring Unit (PPIMU), Engr. Babajide Akeredolu; the Special Adviser to Governor Akeredolu on Environment, Hon. Niyi Oseni; Coordinator, Ondo State REDD+ Project among others.
Subsequently, the NGO partners with Ondo State government through the Ministry of Environment towards creating more oxygen, reducing erosion and pollution, alleviating the effects of flooding among others.
The Director of Beautification in the ministry of environment, Mrs Adeoye who led the government’s representatives to the school displayed high level enthusiasm towards the initiative as she personally planted many trees. Her words, “aside the beautification and natural air the trees would provide, I’m excited being practically contributing to such initiative. At least, I will be able to make reference to these trees as part of what I could achieve while in office. I hereby implore the general public to subscribe to tree planting in order to better our society”.
The Principal of Unity Secondary School, Ode-Aye Mr. Maclean Miyenminiwei Claudius expressed his joy seeing NGO rising to the rescue of the ozone layer from possible depletion at this age. According to him, “I’m ready to give any support within my purview to ensure this initiative records success in this school. I will monitor the trees myself and give timely feedback where necessary”.
The founder is convinced the government cannot achieve everything without supports from the society. In his words, “I’m convinced the government needs the supports of individuals and groups in several areas of focus. Hence, I am optimistic if we all give affordable supports to the government, Nigeria will become a better haven in the near future”, Ayejusunle posited.
Fold for Liberal Age Charity Initiative (FOLIAGE) is a non governmental organization that got itself commissioned in humanitarian and better sociery oriented services during the heat of COVID-19 where it took sensitizaion and distribution of COVID-19 prevention materials to Akure metropolis and outreaches. The NGO has seen sponsored series of projects towards the betterment of mankind.
