    Halia Culbertson Obituary: 17-year-old Girl Stabbed To Death During an Altercation

    During an incident at a store in the North East early on Monday, a 17-year-old girl was fatally stabbed.

    Around 11:45 p.m., a stab wound was discovered outside Cleveland Avenue at 5691 Emporium Square, in front of Shelf 161. Columbus police reported on Sunday. Culbertson passed away at 12:24 a.m. despite being transported in critical condition to OhioHealth Riverside Medical Center. last Monday.

    According to detectives, they detained 18-year-old Bryanna Barozzini in relation to the incident. According to authorities, Barozini has been charged with murder.

    Records from the Franklin County Municipal Court show that witnesses and surveillance footage identified Barozini as a participant in a brawl that began at the transportation company’s convenience store and spread to the parking lot. Court documents state that Barozzini admitted to having a knife on her while fighting Culbertson after being apprehended at her Westerville home.

    Barozzini will appear in court for the first time on Tuesday morning while being detained at the Franklin County Prison. The trial for an 18-year-old woman accused of killing another teen girl began on Tuesday.

    Late on Sunday night, Bryanna Barozzini is charged with stabbing and killing Halia Culbertson, a 17-year-old.

    According to Columbus police, Barozini acknowledged using a knife during the altercation. On Tuesday, her attorney stated to the judge that there was a self-defense issue, but he did not elaborate.

    Just before midnight, a fatal stabbing occurred in the 5600 block of Emporium Square on the northeast side.

    Barozini attended Westerville North High School and is a student at Columbus State University right now. Her bond was set by the judge at $750,000. Records from the Franklin County Municipal Court show that she was only freed from prison after meeting specific requirements. She was told to keep away from the victim’s relatives, as well as the scene of the stabbing. In addition, Barozini was forbidden from having a firearm and from using violence or threatening violence.

    After the hearing, ABC 6/FOX 28 requested an interview with her family but they rejected it.

    The case is set to continue the following week.
