In August 1943, on Long Island, New York, a Temple University graduate in ornamental horticulture was born. After graduation, the idea has always been to join the family business, Bloodgood Nurseries, a Long Island wholesale nursery that has been in operation for generations. The company relocated to Bucks County, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, when it was fourteen years old.
However, a growing passion in vehicles and racing prompted him to abandon horticulture and finally become a professional race car driver for a decade. Jeff’s drag racing career coincided with the development of the exciting nitro cars that transformed the sport. Jeff returned to the car industry after racing to work as a shop owner and dealer mechanic.
Jeff, who has always been interested in competitive sports, began golfing at the age of 16 as a single-digit handicapper, making a habit of shooting and occasionally breaking par in the 70s. Jeff’s first book is Across the Ocean to the Links: A Golfer’s Journey.
