The horrifying moment a 24-year-old ex-Marine locked an unpredictable New York City subway passenger on his head until his death was caught on camera. The brawl broke out at the Broadway-Lafayette station Monday afternoon when a 30-year-old man identified by the New York Post as Jordan Neely boarded the subway and began threatening passengers. Witnesses said he acted “hostile and erratic” before the young man locked him in the head until he lost consciousness.

In the video, the youth can be seen pinning Neely to the floor of a subway car while trying to escape the head lock before suddenly becoming limp.
After the battle, the Marines were arrested and Neely was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Navy police will not be charged in the incident. Neely is headlocked by the 24-year-old viewer.The two fought before Neely passed out

The incident occurred just before 2:30 p.m. on northbound platform F of the Broadway-Lafayette station in midtown Manhattan. The 30-year-old man boarded a northbound train and reportedly began yelling at and throwing trash at fellow commuters, leading him to a fight with the former Marine from Queens, the New York Daily News reported. The soldiers had a dispute.
“He started screaming loudly,” witness Juan Alberto Vazquez told the Post. “He said he hadn’t eaten, he wasn’t drunk, he was tired, he didn’t care if he was going to jail or not. He started yelling, took off his jacket, a black jacket, and threw it on the ground. Police said the Navy The Marines then intervened and held the other man in headlock until he lost consciousness. They were unable to revive him when rescue teams boarded the train that remained on the platform.
Footage of the altercation showed the 24-year-old wrestling with the 30-year-old on the floor of the car while others grabbed the man’s arms and legs as he tried to free himself. Police were shouted from the subway platform throughout the fight before the 30-year-old collapsed.
At this point, a bystander can be heard asking if the man is still breathing, saying, “You don’t want to kill him right now.” A person holding the man’s arm replied, “It’s okay, he’s not pushing now. him.”
Police chose not to identify the 24-year-old man, who was acquitted on Tuesday. Neely is homeless and has mental health issues, according to the Post.
