The Fermented Pig’s owner, Joshua Plante, a Vienna, Virginia resident, has unexpectedly gone away. The news of Joshua Plante’s passing was shared on the Fermented Pig Facebook page with a heartfelt statement. It is with great sadness that we inform our TFP friends of the loss of our founder. He was highly regarded as a passionate leader, a respected mentor, and a valued member of the broader Vienna community. The family is grateful for the kind thoughts and prayers and kindly asks for privacy during this challenging period. The TFP will be temporarily closed until further notice.
Who was Joshua Plante?
Joshua Plante owned The Fermented Pig in Vienna, Virginia. Since 2018, the family-owned business has been offering a wide range of high-quality, artisanal meats, including bacon, sausage, and charcuterie. Customers can conveniently purchase these products online or find them at local farmers’ markets. Plante also held the position of executive chef at The Fermented Pig at Ovations in Wolf Trap, in addition to his Vienna company. He has been providing concertgoers with delicious farm-to-table buffet cuisine and convenient picnic boxes.
He was an exceptional friend, a supportive presence, and a genuinely good person. Whenever his daughters were by his side, a radiant joy would fill his eyes. Joshua was a kind-hearted individual who consistently offered assistance to those in need. He loved his family deeply. He had a radiant smile and a kind heart, and he displayed great generosity towards a stranger.
