    Joyce Carnes Death News; Mt. Pleasant Resident, Joyce Carnes Has Died at 75

    Joyce Carnes, who lived in Mt. Pleasant, passed away at the Excela Health Frick Hospital. She had been alive for 75 years. She chose to end her own life on the same day that her husband, Albert R. “Ray” Carnes, died. They had been married for 57 years. She was born at Mt. Pleasant on January 3, 1946. Joyce used to be a part of the American Legion in Scottdale. She looked forward to bingo games every week, especially those put on by the Mt. Pleasant Polish Falcons.

    She also really loved the Pittsburgh Steelers football team. She leaves behind twenty grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, as well as her two sisters, Karen Knopsnider and her husband Ken of Mt. Pleasant and Linda Bennett and her husband Mark of Parker, Colorado. Some of her children live in Fredericksburg, Virginia: Robin A. Thompson and her husband, James; Janet Danca and her husband,

    Chuck from Mt. Pleasant, Albert R. Carnes from Mt. Pleasant, Patty L. Carnes from Perryopolis, Edward E. Carnes from Mt. Pleasant, Sheila Gearing and her husband David from Mt. Pleasant, and Scott Carnes from Mt. Pleasant. Melody Overly, Ronald Santmyer, and her grandson Adam Ray Lynch were among the people who died before her husband, Albert R. “Ray” Carnes. Mom and dad were among the people who died before her.

    You are welcome to visit the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC. at 406 E. Washington Street, Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania 15666 on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. They will be closed on Monday. Pastor Ken Biller will lead the funeral services on Monday at 11 a.m. After the funeral, the body is buried at Kecksburg’s Fairview Cemetery. Joyce’s family was very grateful to Dr. Richard Lynn, nurse Josilyn, registered nurse, and Lois Wozy from Excela Home Hospice for the wonderful care and attention they gave her while she was sick.
