Following the deaths of her husband Kobe and daughter Gianna in a helicopter accident, Vanessa Bryant alleges that the Los Angeles County negligently disclosed private images. She is requesting $75 million in damages as a result.
On the tenth day of the trial, attorneys Jerome Jackson and Charisse Daniels asked the court to grant Vanessa Bryant and Chris Chester’s plea for compensation.
According to Jerome Jackson, he often experiences anxiety when presenting his final arguments. When making the closing argument in this case, he claimed that he didn’t feel this way. This was as a result of his assertion to the jury that they could not adequately compensate the victims for their suffering.
For each plaintiff’s two years of emotional pain, the attorney asked for 2.5 million dollars. He also asked for a million dollars for each extra year of suffering in the future. He claimed that the suffering endured by the plaintiffs was inhumane and impractical to stack or spread out.
Vanessa Bryant said that unauthorized photo releases of her daughter and her husband Kobe were made by the authorities.
At Los Angeles County Court, Vanessa Bryant said that the employees who released the images had left her saddened, hurt, and betrayed. She stated that she had waited to see the pictures because she wanted to keep them exactly how they had been.
Kobe Bryant’s wife worries that she and her kids will someday encounter gruesome pictures of their family online and experience emotional distress as a result.
Gianna and Kobe Bryant’s bodies were photographed using at least 28 Sheriff Department tools, according to Luis Li, Vanessa Bryant’s attorney. According to Li, the deputies involved shared these pictures, displaying what she claims to be an insensitive culture.
Li said that the pictures were distributed to individuals without a justification. Li claimed that they were frequently traded as mementos and a source of comedy. Bryant’s lawyer claimed the images revealed ‘mangled bodies, close-ups of limbs and charred flesh.’
