Mick Clarke DEath And Obitaury – Clarke, Mick RIP. It is sad to learn of the passing of Big Mick Clarke, a wonderful friend and comrade. Mick was a devoted supporter of the Palestinian struggle, Irish republicanism, TAL Fanzine, and antifascism. To friends and family, my condolences. All those who knew him will miss him.
What a terrible year, another heartbreaking loss. Gerard Ring, one of my oldest friends, passed away last week. Geb was one of the first bass musicians I ever worked with; when we were seeking for a new bass player for our school’s blues band, we found him through an advertisement in the music magazine Melody Maker (below). Geb kept the chop.
Geb is a talented athlete.
John Mcvie studied under Mayall and Fleetwood Mac, and we even performed a respectable rendition of “Vietcong Blues” with Geb playing a very appropriate Jack Myers on bass in honor of my troublesome friend. I think Geb had a good career as a parole officer before returning to bass and working with my friend Bill to create the album A&E on the Killing Floor. And he’s a really nice, intellectual guy. Even if we didn’t always stay in touch, we could always take up where we left off. Throughout labor, relaxation
At the Fabulous Rockfold Studios, located deep within the Surrey Heath, I now relish writing new music. On a regular posting schedule, on Friday, March 24th, I’ll release a slightly remixed version of “The Blues, Man, the Blues” to correct some drum difficulties. Observe this.
