Miriam Rios Death – Miriam Rios, 44, departed this life on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the DHR Health Hospice in Edinburg. She had spent eighteen years as a teacher in the Edinburg School District, and she took great pride in her work. In 2012, Anita Villarreal Elementary School was awarded Teacher of the Year. Miriam loved teaching new teachers how to do their jobs and was always willing to go above and beyond for her kids.
In addition, Miriam was a devoted Catholic who served for many years as a pastor to teenagers and young people at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. It was allegedly said by St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta to “spread love wherever you go.” Everyone who comes to see you can be made to feel joyful by you. Miriam enchanted everyone who laid eyes on her. She made a positive impact on everyone she assisted or taught. Things would be drastically different without her wise remarks, infectious laugh, and charming smile.
Her mom’s side grandparents, Raul and Maria Rosales, and dad’s side grandparents, Irineo and Luz Ramos, have all passed away. James Rodney Rios, Mrs. Rios’s husband, and their two children, Devin and Madison Rios, are among her family members. Her parents, Rodrigo and Teresa Ramos, her siblings, Luz Maria and Rodrigo (Christie) Ramos Jr., her niece Emma Nicole, her in-laws, Reymundo and Alicia Rios, David Omar (Mary) Rios and Rey Rios Jr., both brothers-in-law, and her sister-in-law, Jessica (Joey) Vera, are also present.
The memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. We’ll say a rosary at six o’clock. One will take place on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg, starting at 2:00 p.m. After that, the service will be held in Edinburgh’s Hillcrest Memorial Park. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Home of Edinburg.
