Two 16-year-old males were found shot to death on August 25; the suspects, who are 14 and 17, were captured almost a month later.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 900 block of East Hanover Road at around one in the morning. Police from Burlington, Alamance County, SBI, and the district attorney’s office were also present.

A second caller stated that someone had been shot. Officers discovered an 18-year-old man who had been shot when they arrived.

He had non-life-threatening wounds when he was transported to the hospital. The preliminary findings did not suggest that there were any other victims.

According to Graham police, Burlington officers informed them of a missing person investigation that might be related to the shooting in Graham around 9:45 a.m.

Graham detectives returned to the Graham Village Apartments to search the neighborhood for additional information and proof.

The bodies of two 16-year-old lads, who had presumably been shot, were discovered by the detectives in a wooded area behind the apartment complex at around 11 a.m.

According to a woman FOX8 spoke with who preferred to go unnamed, the neighborhood is typically peaceful.

It’s extremely terrible that this is coming to this section of the town, she said, because we see people strolling down the street, and we kind of know each other. “That it’s so close to our house is definitely…scary.”

The inquiry is still ongoing.

Anyone with information concerning this crime is urged to contact the Criminal Investigations Division’s Captain Flood at (336) 570-6711. The general public can provide information by calling Alamance County Crime Stoppers at (336) 229-7100 and doing so anonymously.
