Terrorists Abduct Catholic Priest In Kaduna

Rev. Fr. Abraham Kunat, a Catholic priest from St. Bernard’s, has been kidnapped by terrorists in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The priest was kidnapped at his hometown, Kurmin Sara, in Kachia Local Government Area of the state in the early hours of Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

The incident was confirmed in a statement by Rev. Fr. Christian Okewu Emmanuel, the Archdiocese of Kaduna’s Chancellor.

According to the statement, Rev. Fr. Abraham Kunat, the parish priest of St. Bernard in Idon Gida, Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, was kidnapped on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at around 12:30 pm.

“The incident happened at St. Mulumba, Kurmin Sara, Kachia LGA, where Fr. Kunat has always lived because of the unrest.

Reverend Joseph Hayeb, the chairman of the State Christian Association of Nigeria, also verified the kidnapping to Daily Trust.

He is the priest of Idom, although he was chosen in his hometown of Kurmin Sara in the Kachia LGA, which is a tragic circumstance. Because so much in the state goes undetected, the situation is quite unfortunate, he said.

Hayeb said a lot need to be done to secure the residents from criminal elements terrorism the people across the state.
