On Wednesday morning, the remains of Kayode Laro, Nigeria’s ambassador to France, landed in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, other top government officials, and family members attended his quick burial at his family plot.
As a symbol of respect for the diplomat’s service to Nigeria, his body was flown in on a Nigerian Air Force aircraft while being decorated with the country’s colours.
At the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq received the diplomat’s remains in the presence of other dignitaries and the deceased’s family.
Sheikh Mohammed Bashir Soliu, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, conducted the funeral ceremonies.
