A rap concert stampede that left two women dead and numerous other concertgoers hurt resulted in the revocation of the license for a Rochester, New York, concert venue on Wednesday.
At a news conference, Police Chief David M. Smith said: “That is one action we can take right away to make sure the events of Sunday night are not repeated.
He said that the Main Street Armory’s owner skipped a scheduled meeting with police and other municipal authorities, therefore he declined the venue’s request to extend its one-year entertainment license.
Following a Sunday night performance by Memphis, Tennessee, rap sensations GloRilla and Finesse2tymes, Rhondesia Belton, 33, of Buffalo, and Brandy Miller, 35, of Rochester were tragically hurt when crowd members surged erratically for the exits.
