Adele Dawson Death: Adele Dawson of Cape Town Cause of Death, Obituary

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Adele Dawson, a member of the League in Cape Town, passed away peacefully on the 9th November.

Adele originally joined the CWL in Durban 33 years ago. She moved back to Cape Town in 2005, where she had grown up, and joined the Bothasig Branch since there was no branch in her parish at the time. A few months later, Adele took over as Bothasig Branch President.

Adele also served on the Diocesan Committee, as news correspondent, and was very active with her posts on CWL activities, keeping the National newsletter and the Southern Cross updated on League activities.

When the CWL opened two branches in Tableview (a morning and an evening group), Adele transferred her membership since it was closer to home and where she could also help in getting the morning group off the ground.

Adele was an accomplished seamstress, a hobby she loved and excelled at. She made many items of clothing for the annual Clothing Guild in Cape Town. Every item had her personal touch and each was different. She also sewed for other charities in other parts of the country and just before she passed away, she had sent 47 appliquéd bags to her previous branch in Durban, to assist them with a project they were running.

In 2014, at the National Conference in Port Elizabeth, Adele received an Honorary Life Membership award, for going over and above her normal duties.

May the soul of our dear friend and League member, Adele, rest in eternal peace. Adele will be sorely missed
