Adeyemi College of Education Ondo will host the 2016 preliminaries of
NICEGA for south-west zone. The Nigeria Colleges of Education Games
Association (NICEGA) which started in 1978 and was hosted by Alvan Ikoku
College of Education; has been a festival uniting colleges of education
across the federation through sports.
south-west zone ought to start yesterday, June 1 but was postponed to
June 2 because of the failure of participating colleges to show up.
Adeyemi college of Education hosted the main event in 1980 and now she
is set to host the preliminaries in 2016.

major stakeholders showed that the college as well as her team are ready
to shine and receive their colleagues. Mr Bernard A.E, the HOD for
Physical and Health Education and the coach for the Arbico team-the
college official sport team- expressed satisfaction with the support
that the team has received so far from the school and was also convinced
that the team’s preparation is enough to help them shine. According to
him, the male soccer team had been able to participate in five friendly
matches in which they won two, drew two and lost one against the most
formidable opponent of all the five; the rising stars of Ondo who are
currently in the Globacom Premier League.
Speaking with Ekimogunlive correspondents, Fatokimi Oluwasunkanmi, the
skipper for the male football believe that the current team spirit which
the team has is enough to push them to glory. Calling on all and
sundry to support the hockey team, Iderawunmi Kafayat, the skipper for
the female hockey team concluded that One of the teams to watch out for
is the Hockey team who bagged silver in the last edition of NICEGA
held at Niger State college of Education, minna in 2014. Kafayat who was
the assistant skipper in the last edition believe the team has what it
takes to perform better in this year’s edition.
