It is with deep regret that we inform you about a recent loss to our Village. Last night, Mrs. Ann Marie McGhee passed away surrounded by her family and friends. Mrs. McGhee was an amazing teacher, and we were so lucky and blessed to have her at HCA.
This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students. HCA has a team of professionals trained to help with the needs of students and school personnel at difficult times such as this. There will be school counselors available for any student who may need or want any type of assistance surrounding this loss.
Our current 5th grade students and Mrs. McGhee’s former 5th grade students, now 6th graders, will be notified by their classroom teachers and designated support staff of Mrs. McGhee’s passing in person on Monday morning.
At this time the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to HCA. These donations will go toward a special legacy space and initiative in honor of Mrs. McGhee. A celebration of life is planned for December 3rd. We will release additional information about these events in the coming days, but for now please just keep the McGhee family in your thoughts.
We are truly saddened by this loss to our Village and we will make every effort to help you and your child as much as you need. Thanks for your support and love during this time.
