In connection with the alleged murders of three University of Virginia football players, police have detained Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., a former Cavaliers football player.
Jones is also accused of shooting two other passengers. Devin Chandler, Lavel “Tyler” Davis, and D’Sean Perry, three UVA football players, were shot and killed on a bus returning from a field trip to Washington, D.C. Jones also allegedly shot two other passengers.
According to his UVA bio, Jones was a team member in 2018, although he did not participate in any games. A school official claimed that he had been absent from the team for “almost a year.”
