Fallbrook Motorcycle Accident; Incident Report & Victim / Who is Francisco Esteban Rodas?

The California Highway Patrol reported that a hit-and-run collision that happened near Fallbrook on Saturday night resulted in the death of a motorcycle.

A news release states that at at 5:45 p.m., the CHP-Oceanside Area Office visited the scene of a tragic collision in the 4500 block of South Mission Road.

Authorities claim that a 32-year-old Fallbrook resident was riding a Harley Davidson motorbike north on South Mission Road, south of La Canada Road.

Authorities claim that a 33-year-old Fallbrook resident driving a Toyota T-100 pickup truck struck the motorbike as he approached the intersection of South Mission Road and La Canada Road from the west.

According to CHP, the motorcycle was then pushed into the southbound lane of South Mission Road where it collided with a gray Model S Tesla.

The driver of the Toyota pickup truck fled the scene of the collision, but CHP officers eventually located him at his home around 6:30 p.m. It was identified as Francisco Esteban Rodas.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged with felony hit-and-run and DUI in relation to this incident. He was detained and transported to the Vista Detention Center.
