On behalf of McHenry County Farm Bureau, we would like to express our sympathies to Glen Stade’s family and friends. Local farmers gathered this morning to thank tractors.
Glen Stade, 65, of McHenry tragically perished in an accident on the evening of October 25, 2022.
Gordon Stade and Irene Kutz welcomed him into the world in Evanston, Illinois, on January 8, 1957. Up until the age of 12, he spent his childhood years on the family farm in Grayslake. At that point, he relocated to the property in McHenry, where he started his farming and grain elevator business.
In 2004, he married Candace Horton on May 5.
Glen was a loving spouse, father, grandfather, son, brother, stepbrother, uncle, and other family members. He was a beloved farmer and a devoted friend who went above and beyond for everybody. He loved farming and running the grain elevator business. He was incredibly strong and energetic, and he frequently worked for two to three days straight without taking a break to help others finish their harvest.
