James Blaauboer, 26, of Clifton Park, passed away suddenly on November 11, 2022.
Jake graduated from Shenendehowa High School. He was enrolled at both Hudson Valley Community College and the University of Notre Dame at the time of his death. He had been a welder before and had served in the US Army.
As a dedicated runner for the school’s cross country and track teams, Jake was a talented athlete. He challenged himself by climbing Mount Washington in New Hampshire, Pikes Peak in Colorado, and a number of high peaks in the Adirondacks. He was an intelligent debater who enjoyed discussing political and philosophical issues. He enjoyed reading and listening to all kinds of music. Jake was a sweet old man, and we will treasure our memories of him.
Molly, Jake’s devoted sister, and Jim and Mary Blaauboer, Jake’s parents, all live in Clifton Park. He still has living relatives, aunts, and other extended family members. His maternal grandparents, Richard and Joan Clemens, and his paternal grandparents, Henry and Vinci Blaauboer, both passed away before him.
