Richard Mitchell Death – Richard Mitchell, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was born in Galesburg, Illinois, on February 26, 1935. He belonged to the Mitchell clan. His graceful transition from this life to the next occurred in Torrance, California on December 9, 2023. His affection and recollections have left a legacy that will always be cherished. Richard predeceased his parents, Earl and Emelie, brother Earl Jr., sisters Maxine and Marilyn, and himself.
His friends and family called him Rick, with affection. Rick found that the joy and love his family brought into his life gave him the strength to keep going even after these tragedies. After his death, the only people who will remember him are Frances, his devoted wife, and his five children, Cindy (Jerry), Rick (Courtney), Donna (Mark), Mike (Brandy), and Amy (Gabe). His soul will live on in the hearts of a big number of grandkids, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
These generations are all impacted by him. Rick’s commitment to his family—as a proud grandparent, a loving father, and a committed spouse—was what made his life unique. One of the things that defined him in life was this commitment. His warm smile and kind disposition made the people who were lucky enough to be in his family circle feel like they were in a safe sanctuary of love and support.
Rick’s legacy extends beyond his immediate family to an endless number of nieces and nephews who benefited from his wisdom and considerate guidance. The generations who follow him will still feel the effects of his love and leadership. Friends and family are cordially invited to celebrate Rick’s life at the memorial events scheduled for Wednesday, January 3, 2024, starting at ten o’clock in the morning at Lighthouse Memorials and Receptions in Gardena, California.
We shall cherish the memories of the amazing experiences we had with Rick during this period, find solace in each other’s company, and celebrate a life well lived. acknowledging the passing of a wonderful person whose presence will be much missed but whose memory and affection will live on for ever.
