Authorities have taken a suspect into custody following a shooting incident at Puyallup’s South Hill Mall.
Jordan Poisson, 22, allegedly entered the South Hill Mall in Puyallup on Tuesday morning, July 23, 2019, through the air conditioning ducts on the roof of Macy’s. Following the shooting incident in the mall, Jordan Poisson pled not guilty to various criminal charges related to the occurrence.
Poisson allegedly fired at the store entrances of American Eagle, Grail Finders Shoes, and Macy’s before taking many goods from various establishments, according to detectives who checked CCTV footage. Authorities estimate that his acts resulted in a total loss of $30,000, including $15,000 in stolen goods and $10,000 in property damage. Police noted Poisson’s anger against them in court files, including spitting and shouting.
Poisson shot or aimed a firearm, and he has been charged with stealing, breaking and entering, and malicious damage, all of which were detailed in the affidavit. According to the record, he made suicidal threats in both the county jail and the police cruiser. He has another court appearance scheduled for August, and his bond has been set at $200,000.
