The back problem is expected to keep him out for a while, and before he is cleared to play in the white-ball home series against Australia and South Africa in September-October, he will need to complete rehabilitation work at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Similar problems plagued Bumrah a few years prior, and he was out for an extended period of time.
