Romelu Lukaku: Inter Milan seal loan deal for Chelsea striker

Inter Milan seal loan deal for Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku has been officially signed by Inter Milan on a one-year loan from Chelsea.

The Belgian international was re-signed by Chelsea for £97.5 million from Inter last summer, but his homecoming did not go as expected in the previous campaign.

Lukaku is under contract with Chelsea until 2026, and Inter want the attacker to help them win back the title they lost to AC Milan last season. New co-owner Todd Boehly has now approved a temporary exit in the hopes that it will benefit all parties.

Steven Zhang, the president of Inter, is said to have objected to the desired loan fee and compensation, delaying the deal earlier this month. Chelsea demanded a guarantee of €10 million and anticipated that Inter would pay the player’s whole salary.

Now that problem has settled, with Lukaku making a season-long loan return to the San Siro in an effort to restart his career.

Lukaku played in 26 Premier League games for Chelsea in 2021–22, including 10 as a substitute, and he scored eight goals.

The striker might participate in Inter’s away Serie A opener against Leece on August 14th.
