Tena Ann Callighan, 62, of Salisbury, MO, died Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at her home. Tena was born June 12, 1962 in Kirksville, MO the daughter of Leon Delbert and Nellie Lynn (Stiefel) Latchford. She married Kenneth Callighan on August 20, 1982 in Shelbina, MO.
Tena was a graduate of South Shelby High School, class of 1980. She attended Truman State University for one year. Tena retired from Chariton County Abstract and Title on June 12, 2024. She was a member Theta Zeta of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury, MO. Tena enjoyed the comradery of the Circleview Heights community. Halloween was her favorite holiday. She enjoyed shopping, antiquing, gardening, dragonflies, and crappie fishing with Kenny. Her most precious title was being “Gammy” and spending time with her family.
Tena is survived by her husband Kenny of the home, son Adam (Sarah) Callighan of Lee’s Summit, MO, grandchildren Alex, Bailey, and Kinsley, brothers Sam (Barbara) Latchford of Shelbina, MO, Bruce (Vicki) Latchford of Callao, MO, sister Jody (David) Chinn of Clarence, MO, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son Scott Andrew Callighan.
Vigil service is Monday, November 4, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Visitation will follow from 4-7:00 p.m. with Rosary said at 7:00 p.m. at Summerville Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Scott Calligan Memorial or St. Joseph Church Restoration Fund.
