The Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reports that a man from Tennessee has been taken into custody and faces charges related to a road rage incident in Hazel Green.
The MCSO has announced that Donnie Kent, 29, from Tennessee, faces two charges related to discharging a firearm. The sheriff’s office announced that the arrest and subsequent charges resulted from a collaborative investigation with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).
According to the sheriff’s office, Kent is currently detained at the Lincoln County jail as he awaits extradition to Alabama. Authorities expect that more charges will be announced soon.
Authorities have confirmed that they received a report regarding a road rage incident on Highway 231 North in Hazel Green, as stated by MCSO. The incident took place on Saturday night.
Jackson Shores stated that he was among those affected by the incident. He informed Whitney Leibold from News 19 that he was heading home with his date that evening when he observed a vehicle tailing them a bit too closely. Shores reported that the driver of that vehicle subsequently began to steer his car off the road. The individual claimed that the man subsequently fired a weapon at his vehicle.
The investigation conducted by MCSO in collaboration with LCSO led to the identification of Kent as the suspect in the case, resulting in the issuance of warrants. On Thursday, he was apprehended without any complications.
