She had been a resident of Ashland before. His parents, Joseph and Margaret (O’Garrah) Brecker, gave him the date of birth, January 1, 1929.

She is the sole surviving member of her immediate family to this day.

Her husband, Leo G. Hardnock Jr., had died before her, and they had celebrated 64 years of marriage together.

She received accolades from Ashland Area High School, where she graduated in 1947.

She had previously worked for Dee Fashions in Centralia, Oxford Dress Company in Shamokin, and Waldners Lumber Company in Ashland. She also worked at Holy Rosary Church in Mahanoy Plane as a secretary for Fr. Thomas Horan.

She had previously held the positions of treasurer and president of Ashland Lodge, the Elks Ladies Auxiliary, and member of Catholic Daughters of America, Friends of St. Joseph, and St. Ann’s Guild. Additionally, she had formerly belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America.

Their canines were members of their family, and they were avid fans of the Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her brother-in-law Raymond and his wife Catherine Hardnock, sister Margaret Yarnell, who was married to Robert, and sister Dolores Welsh, who was married to Edward, popularly known as Mickey.

His sister-in-law Joan Ryan of Harrisburg, his brother-in-law Ronald Hardnock and his wife Karen of Baltimore, and other nieces, nephews, and their families survive him.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Providence Place in Pottsville, Amedisys Hospice of Lehigh Valley in Bethlehem, St. Patrick’s Church in Pottsville, and all of the priests, chaplains, and deacons for the wonderful care that was given to our aunt during her final days. God bless each and every one of you!
