A public memorial service will be held today for the Springfield Township police officer who was slain on the job last week. Officer Tim Unwin was involved in a two-car collision Friday while responding to a “officers need assistance” call at North College Hill. Unwin and another motorist, William Dunson, were killed in the collision. Few facts regarding the collision have been revealed, including which car collided with which.
If you’re planning to attend Unwin’s funeral, here’s what you need to know. Funerals are handled by Spring Grove Funeral Home. The public service hours of 4389 Spring Grove Ave are 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tours begin at 9:00 a.m. and are held at the main event center.
It will next proceed to the Arlington Memorial Gardens in Springfield.
The funeral service will take place once the procession arrives at the cemetery at 12.30 pm. A memorial has been created for Tim Unwin, who was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Friday morning, near the police station.
Three family members and two police officers, including Police Chief Rick Bligh, will share their memories of Unwin. The prayers will be led by Father Steve Angie, vicar of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
