Timothy Young Death – After a brief fight with cancer, Tim Young, 56, of Rockford, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. He was accompanied by his loving wife. On February 6, 1967, he was born in Troy, Ohio, to Richard and Dorothy (Sanders) Young. His wife, Mitzie McKirby, lived to see May 26, 2001.
Son Richard (Shelly) Young of Lima, Ohio, is also living. Branden Young, a son from Rockford, OH; Daniel Young, a son from Mendon, OH; Brantley and Gabe Young, grandsons; Thomas (Amanda) Young, a brother from St. Marys, OH; Rob Caywood, a brother from St. Marys, Ohio; Matt (Amy) Caywood, St. Marys, OH; and Kathy (Bernie) Roessner, a sister from Wilmington, SC; brother-in-law Brady (Miranda) McKirby, a sister-in-law from Mt. Orab, OH Parents-in-law Ty and Cathy McKirby, West Union, OH; sister-in-law Chelsie McKirby, Celina, OH; and Stephanie (Matt) Doyle, Celina, OH
Many relatives and a few children referred to him as “Pops.” In addition to mother Dorothy Young-Caywood and brothers Jeff Young (1978) and David Young (2018), father Richard Young also passed away. He graduated from St. Marys Memorial High School in 1985. Tim was employed by Ferguson Distribution Centre in Celina, OH from 2013 to the present, and by Brookside Trucking in Maria Stein, OH from 2003 to 2013. At the Excite vehicle Club, where he was a vehicle enthusiast, he was known as “Pops.” His pastimes included fishing, hunting, and collecting antiques with his family.
On Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., the funeral will take place at Miller Funeral Home, located in St. Marys at 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West). Pastor Chuck Snelling will be leading the services. Visitation hours at the funeral home on Friday are 2–4 and 6–8 p.m.
