Sofyan Amrabat’s summer deal to Manchester United is simply being held up, according to football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
Before making a formal offer to buy Amrabat from Fiorentina, Man United wants to transfer midfielder Donny van de Beek to Spanish La Liga team Real Sociedad, according to Romano.
Amrabat is eager to move on from Fiorentina and has previously collaborated with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag while the two were at Utrecht.
“Man United is still working on the Donny van de Beek agreement with Real Sociedad because they want to complete additional outgoings before launching an official bid for Amrabat. According to what I’ve been told, negotiations for a Van de Beek trade with Manchester United are still ongoing, Romano said on the Debrief podcast.
They will start formal negotiations for Sofyan Amrabat after they have clarified the situation with Van de Beek.
