The Tuohy Family, who were portrayed in the 2009 film “The Blind Slide” starring Sandra Bullock, are the subject of a lawsuit brought by the former NFL player.

Oher, however, claims that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, his “adoptive parents,” deceived him into appointing them as his conservators and then made millions of dollars from him.
By doing this, the couple would be given the legal right to conduct business in his name.
They received “$225,000” in addition to “2.5 percent” of the movie’s “defined net proceeds,” the lawsuit claims.
The Tuohy family, however, is criticising Oher’s assertions and labelling his case a’shakedown campaign’ following an earlier attempt.
The couple’s lawyer, Marty Singer, referred to the NFL player’s plea as “outlandish,” “hurtful,” and “absurd” in a statement provided to TODAY.
Oher had previously threatened the family, according to Singer as well.
“The idea that the Tuohys have ever sought to profit off Mr. Oher is not only offensive, it is blatantly absurd,” the statement said.
In the same statement, Singer added that “even recently, when Mr. Oher started to threaten them about what he would do unless they paid him an eight-figure windfall, and, as part of that shakedown effort, refused to cash the small profit checks from the Tuohys, they still deposited Mr. Oher’s equal share into a trust account they set up for his son.”
