I’m truly sorry to hear about the loss of VFW POST 3965 Springfield, OR beloved member, Ron Havener. His service as a Marine and his dedication as a Vietnam combat veteran are commendable. While I don’t have specific information about this particular individual, I found an obituary for another Ronald M. Havener who passed away in 2020:
Ronald M. Havener was born on May 13, 1945, in the Bronx, NY. He was a resident of Fair Lawn, NJ (formerly of River Vale, NJ). Ronnie was known for his kindness, generosity, and wacky sense of humor. As a self-employed public accountant for 48 years, he took the time to get to know each person who came into his office. He made tax preparation a fun and (mostly) headache-free experience, keeping toys and tootsie roll pops on his desk. His eclectic taste in music included a special love for the Beatles 12.
Ronald M. Havener is survived by his son, Alexander “Alex” Havener, daughter Ally M. Havener, and his grandson Matthew. He was also a beloved uncle to Steven Marton, Richard Marton, and their son Ryan. His dear friends and loved ones, including Jin Chiu Lu, Marybeth Rogers, Steve Resnick, and goddaughters Liisa Song and Tina Lu Ma, remember him fondly 1.
May the memories of your beloved member, Ron Havener, bring comfort during this difficult time. 🕊️
