The Vancouver Police Department, led by Chief Jeff Mori, was among the first to respond, alongside Clark County Sheriff’s Office under the leadership of Sheriff John Horch.

In a statement, Chief Jeff Mori confirmed the tragic outcome of the incident, stating, “Tonight, Vancouver faced a tragic act of violence at Vancouver Mall, resulting in the loss of one life and critical injuries to two individuals.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the victims and their families.” Sheriff John Horch, present at the scene alongside officers, also expressed his sorrow, noting, “This senseless act of violence has shaken our community to its core.
