Welcome to 24 Hours Online, where we ask a very internet-savvy person to document a day in their life through their screens.
For Rosie Nguyen, flirting with her Twitter friends is part of the job. Nguyen, better known by her online persona @JasmineRiceGirl, is the co-founder and chief marketing officer of Fanhouse, a platform for creators to monetize their followers. She’s also an influencer, ranging from auditioning for her Twitch subscribers to posting about her bowel movements.

There are also some less interesting parts. As a woman who tweets about sexual desire and other topics that fall within the overarching umbrella of “girl culture,” Nguyen regularly receives creepy direct messages, unsolicited dick pics, and even “hateful attacks.” , which is obviously a thing if a lot of people flood your Twitch stream and say bad things about you. The 24-year-old is still thinking about it all. “There used to be a weird tension between my online persona and my professional life,” she said on a recent Zoom call, “but I’m really starting to embrace these weird overlaps.” Here’s what Nguyen said Ways to spend April 20th online (without weed), in their own words:
I try to wake up around 9am. I usually spend an hour on the phone before moving or doing anything – I don’t know how people have the energy to get out of bed right after waking up. I scrolled through Twitter and saw people making fun of the person who complained about the “emotional labor” of raising children. I didn’t comment on it because it’s none of my business, but I hope the kids are okay.
This is one of those things you only know if you live on Twitter. My roommates didn’t know anything about it, so I had to give them the full context and what everyone was saying, and I was like, “This is so interesting, I have this information in my head every day.”
After playing Doom for an hour, I meditated for 10 minutes using the Headspace app. I’ve never been as consistent as I’d like to be, but is another kind of meditation better than nothing?
I was in a meeting with my marketing team and was taking ADHD medication that I was supposed to take earlier when I woke up but I forgot. I feel like a lot of content creators tend to have ADHD because being online is one of the things that really works – you get these constant notifications trying to grab your attention.
I go through my Slack notifications and reply to everything. It always feels like hundreds of people have to get through in the morning.
One of the things we do at Fanhouse that is very important to me is protect creators from harassment and leaks. This happened a lot when I was on OnlyFans. There will be a number of posts on Reddit dedicated to leaks and hateful comments on people’s accounts, so we’ve given the DCMA treatment to all of them. All content on Fanhouse has a unique watermark so we know exactly who leaked it and can then fine you. I feel like most platforms don’t care about creators unless there’s copyright infringement, but we really do.
