Demetrice Gillespie, also known as Meechie, was born on March 30, 1999, to a mother named Tammy Tate Wilson and a father named William D. Gillespie. On January 1, 2019, he passed away in Charlotte, North Carolina. He went to be with the Lord after that day. Demetrice is a priceless treasure because of his love of music and commitment to his family. His greatest achievement was having Pierre Shakeal Gillespie. He was cherished by many people due to his dedication to his family.

Demetrice was first introduced to music in his family at a young age. His passion for music provided him a voice that was heard across the nation, and it also made his family and neighborhood happy. Darius and Demetrice, two local musicians, have recorded original songs. A recording studio named D2 was founded by Demetrice and his twin brother Darius. They developed their musical skills through using them. The qualities they possessed immensely inspired their father, who loves and respects them.

When Ellen DeGeneres featured them on her program in 2009, their ascent to popularity began. They next made an appearance on two additional episodes of the show. The twins became even more well-known after going on nationwide tours and giving live performances. Their videos have been on BET’s 106 & Park and The Oprah Winfrey Show. They were employed by the Jonas Brothers, took part in Tallahassee Nights Live, a Michael Jackson homage, and gave a halftime performance for the previous “Charlotte Bobcats.”

The trio was able to take part in Motown musical auditions in New York and Atlanta thanks to producer K-Fam and the band 112. They attended educational institutions in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. Tate, and aunt Theresa Terri Harper. His son Pierre Shakeal Gillespie from Statesville, NC, father Deven R. Gillespie from Charlotte, NC, and brothers Darius O. Gillespie and Jayden D. Gillespie from Charlotte, NC will all remember how he left behind a legacy of love. Demetrice also has a sister named Destinee A-M Young who resides in Statesville, North Carolina, and a close friend named Tiera Walker.

The godmothers are Alecia Latimer and Tamara Perry. DiAsha Posey, Jamarr Mack, and Jervass Moss are godbrothers. Gillespie are Georgia Wilson’s uncles and aunts who are descended from her grandparents. Amari McClelland, Tyrell Tate, and Tyra McClelland are Georgia’s special cousins. The other special cousins of Georgia are Preston Gillespie and LJ Harper Jr.
