Alaina Chantal, also known as Laney Chantal Parkhurst, was born Thomas and Linda Parkhurst on February 20, 1989 in Adrian, Michigan. Alaina grew up in Manitou Beach, Michigan, where her parents and two older sisters were Shanna (Eric) Navarre from Tecumseh, Michigan and Laurel Parkhurst from Manitou Beach, Michigan. She attended St. Joseph’s College in elementary and middle school, and competed in Lenawee County 4-H, football, and basketball before graduating from Hudson High School in 2007.
As a teenager, Alaina enjoyed hanging out with her friends, skating, going to concerts, and spending summers by the lake. After high school, Alaina moved to Los Angeles, California. In 2008, she joined the Film Makeup School, where she earned a degree that would help her succeed as a special effects makeup artist. No matter how big the task, Alaina gives it her all – body, mind and spirit. Her portfolio immediately grew as her artistic talent and vision quickly set her apart from other nearby artists.
On Saturday, November 12, the family cordially invites you to a luncheon in honor of Alaina (possibly). Although the location hasn’t been confirmed, it will probably be subsequently disclosed and shared on social media. Alaina battled a variety of mental health conditions all through her adult life.
Her family requests that you take a moment to think about contributing to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation in light of her battles with mental illness. The group seeks to assist those who are suffering from mental illnesses by offering them support, care, and treatment. We hope you’ll join us in paying tribute to Alaina by aiding those who are experiencing similar hardships. I appreciate your kindness and time.
