William Billy Evans Death And Obituary – William “Billy” Evans, a former American Basketball Association point guard, passed away back on January 12th at the age of 75.
The following is an excerpt from Evans’ online obituary: “One of the greatest passers and playmakers in Boston College basketball history, he set records of 276 assists in a single season (1966-67) and 669 in his career, he holds the leading assist record and is a member of the Eagles Hall of Fame. Following graduation in 1969, he played professional basketball with the New York Nets and returned to Boston College to earn his law degree. He was an avid horse racing and Boston sports fan and he found golf to be an elusive sport.”
During the 1969 NBA Draft he was picked in the 13th round by the Boston Celtics and failed to make the team, he then signed a contract with the New York Nets and played professionally during the 1969-1970 season.
