35-Year-Old Woman Identified as Victim in Fatal William Penn Highway Crash
A 35-year-old woman who died in a car accident early Sunday morning on William Penn Highway has been identified as Nicole D. Guzman of Easton, according to the Northampton County Coroner’s Office.
Guzman was a passenger in a Nissan Altima that veered off the road and struck two trees near the Chipman Road intersection. Coroner Zachary Lysek reported that Guzman died from blunt force injuries and ruled her death an accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash was discovered shortly after 2 a.m. by a township police officer on patrol. The driver, a 31-year-old Easton resident, was taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released the driver’s name.
Both occupants were trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by emergency responders, officials said.
Preliminary investigations indicate the vehicle was traveling east on William Penn Highway when it crossed into the opposite lane, went off the north side of the road, and collided with the trees.
