Anthony Rendon Fan Video Surfaced Online Almost SLAPS Fan In The Face

Los Angeles Angels star Anthony Rendon is accused of assaulting a fan in Oakland, California, and police in Oakland, California have opened an investigation.

According to reports, Major League Baseball is also looking into the conflict. The Angels third baseman is seen in the video confronting a rival in the stands after alleging that the crowd had insulted him. The video was posted on Twitter. On the night in question, the A’s defeated their AL West foe 2-1 at Oakland Coliseum.

Although authorities said they were looking into the “battery” incident, the fan in the video did not contact Oakland Police. How did you say that? As he grabs his shirt, Rendon can be heard asking the fan. An unheard sound came from the fan in response.

Then Rendon retorted, “You call me Ab-, huh?

The fan implied that he did not use that term to describe the two-time Silver Slugger by shaking his head in disbelief. (In another video, it appeared like the player was being yelled at by A’s team supporters before Rendon stopped speaking, although it was unclear what he was saying.)

“You did, indeed. Rendon, who was still holding the fan’s T-shirt, uttered, “Yes, m—f—.”

After releasing the man’s clothing, Rendon made an apparent attempt to strike or kick him in the head before turning and leaving. Lendon’s hand had to be backed away from by the fan.

A video of the altercation that went viral and has more than 9 million views as of Saturday was posted by The Athletic’s MLB-only Twitter account. One observer of the video noted on the Twitter thread, “Swing and misses look quite on-brand here,” maybe referring to Rendon, who went 0-for-3 twice on Thursday.

The Angels reportedly declined to comment on the situation but claimed Rendon will be made clear before Saturday’s game in Oakland against the A’s.

On Saturday at 1:07 p.m., the A’s and Angels are both slated to play. PT.
